Qur’an Teacher – Noble Garden Academy
Noble Garden Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qur’an Teacher who is committed to nurturing students’ love for the Qur’an and helping them build a strong Islamic identity. The Qur’an Teacher plays a vital role in guiding students to read, recite, memorize, and understand the Qur’an while fostering a lifelong connection with the Book of Allah (SWT).

Position Summary
The Qur’an Teacher provides high-quality instruction in Qur’anic reading, recitation, memorization (Hifz), and foundational tajweed using the Noor Al Bayan Curriculum and Qaidah Nooriniyah. The teacher differentiates instruction to meet students’ individual needs while encouraging excellence, confidence, and a sincere love for learning the Qur’an.
Essential Responsibilities
Qur’an Instruction
- Teach students to read the Qur’an accurately and fluently through structured, standards-based instruction.
- Provide foundational tajweed instruction using Qaidah Nooriniyah and the Noor Al- Bayan Curriculum.
- Guide students in Qur’an memorization (Hifz), review, and retention according to Noble Garden Academy’s expectations.
- Introduce age-appropriate explanations of Qur’anic meanings and lessons to help students connect the Qur’an to their daily lives.
- Differentiate instruction to support students at varying reading and memorization levels.
- Monitor student recitation, correct pronunciation with patience and encouragement, and provide regular individualized feedback.
- Foster consistent review habits and encourage students to practice outside of class.
Islamic Character & Spiritual Development
The Qur’an Teacher helps students:
- Develop a sincere love for Allah (SWT) and His Messenger ﷺ.
- Build a meaningful relationship with the Qur’an through daily recitation and reflection.
- Demonstrate proper adab (Islamic manners) toward the Qur’an and during acts of worship.
- Grow in confidence when leading prayer, reciting Qur’an, and participating in Islamic activities.
- Develop honesty, kindness, respect, responsibility, and other Islamic character traits that reflect the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah.
- Understand how Islamic values guide everyday decisions and interactions.
Student Assessment
- Regularly assess students in:
- Qur’anic reading fluency
- Letter recognition (when applicable)
- Tajweed application
- Memorization accuracy and retention
- Understanding of selected Qur’anic meanings
- Confidence and presentation in recitation
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement and progress.
- Communicate student progress with families and school administration.
- Develop intervention and support plans for students requiring additional assistance.
Instructional Practices
- Create engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons using a variety of instructional strategies, including:
- Small-group instruction
- Individual conferencing
- Guided recitation
- Interactive learning activities
- Visual and auditory supports
- Positive reinforcement
- Review and repetition
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning styles and student abilities.
- Maintain a classroom environment that promotes respect, confidence, perseverance, and enthusiasm for learning the Qur’an.
- Integrate educational technology when appropriate to enhance student learning and engagement.
Professional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and Islamic Studies teachers to reinforce Qur’anic learning across the curriculum.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and teacher evaluations.
- Implement recommendations that support instructional growth and student achievement.
- Maintain respectful, professional communication with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding students, families, staff, and school operations.
- Assist with school supervision duties, including lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, assemblies, and special events.
- Support Noble Garden Academy’s mission by actively participating in school programs, community events, and fundraising initiatives.
- Model exemplary Islamic character, professionalism, punctuality, and ethical conduct at all times.
Qualifications
Required
- Demonstrated experience teaching Qur’an, including reading, tajweed, and memorization.
- Strong knowledge of tajweed and proper Qur’anic recitation.
- Experience teaching Qaidah Nooriniyah and Noor Al- Bayan Curriculum with the or willingness to complete Noble Garden Academy’s training.
- Commitment to modeling outstanding Islamic character (akhlaq) and professionalism.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a faith-based educational environment.
Preferred
- Ijazah in Qur’anic recitation or formal Qur’an teaching certification.
- Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
- Current college students with strong Qur’anic qualifications and teaching experience may be considered.
- Previous experience working with elementary or middle school students in an Islamic school setting.
